Maureen and her husband Max retired from their farm to move to the Broadwater electorate in 2002, where they fell in love with the wonderful area and its people.
Earlier in her life, Maureen was honoured to serve in the Army Reserve and Australian Regular Army as a member of the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corp. She retired as a Major, after serving both interstate and overseas, and knows what it means to work hard and serve others.
Living on their farm, Maureen embraced being the wife of a Farmer. Her husband worked hard and they were both active members of their rural community.
Maureen knows that the wellbeing of others is important. She is excited at the prospect of joining a Palaszczuk Labor government that will keep Queenslanders safe and lead us through the COVID-19 economic recovery.
Maureen has a big family which keeps her on her toes - her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all look up to her, and as an active member of her local RSL Branch, Maureen is connected to the Broadwater community.
