A long-term local with a passion for his community, James Martin will represent Labor in Calamvale Ward at the March 2020 Council elections. James lives in Algester with his wife Stella and son Ollie. He grew up and went to school in nearby Acacia Ridge, where his parents Bob and Lesley still live today.
Working with the state member for Stretton, Duncan Pegg, James represents community members and organisations - helping them get the assistance and representation they deserve. Over and over again, Calamvale locals were turning up with the same story. They are being ignored by a Council more focused on inner-city Brisbane than the local area.
With a Masters Degree from the University of Queensland, James is committed to putting ratepayers back at the heart of everything the Brisbane City Council does. He will be a strong voice for Calamvale, fighting to ensure his local area gets a fair go from City Hall.
